Don't Be Afraid Of Hard Work !
There lived a young boy in a village, and he was famous for his laziness and evasion of work. All the villagers used to call him lazy because he used to study under a tree the whole day.
And while lying down, he kept thinking about his future and seeing nice dreams. His days were passing in such laziness.
But one day a sage came to that village, who was going to stay in the same village for the next 3 days. He collected donations from the people and preached to the people throughout the day and rested in the temple outside the village at night.
Whenever the sage went to collect donations and returned at night, he would find the young boy lying under the same tree. The sage kept watching all this for 2 days and understood that this boy is a slave of mental laziness.
On the third day when he was returning, he went to the boy who was still lying under the same tree. The sage said to the boy, “Son, I have a job for you. I want you to go to the top of that hill and bring me a feather from there.”
While lying down, the boy turned his head towards the hill and took his eyes towards the small part of that mountain and he looked at the sage and said mockingly, “This is impossible. I can't go up that hill, I'm too lazy."
The monk said smilingly “Hey! The feather I am looking for will not be found even on the top of this hill, it will be found inside a cave on the other side of this hill. For which one will have to climb up to the peak of this hill and then come down. But that is no ordinary feather, it is such a feather that you have never seen before.”
That feather is a rare but beautiful feather, which scatters light. These words of the sage increased the excitement inside the boy. He had never heard of such a feather before today. And after hearing about such an exciting journey, he got excited inside.
That's why he accepted the sage's challenge, and he started towards the hill. But the climb was very long and difficult. Soon the boy's body started getting tired, his breathing became short and sweat started flowing from his body.
But still he continued walking. As he climbed higher and higher, he began to feel happiness, which he had never felt before.
When at last after hard work and long efforts he reached the top of the hill, he was completely exhausted. But he was very happy, he was feeling self-satisfaction from inside. There was a warrior's smile on his face.
As if he had won a war. Then he looked down from the peak of the hill; there was a very beautiful sight in front of him. But the real challenge lay ahead. Because he had to go down from that hill again, and also find the cave in which the feather was said to be found.
Going down was very difficult and dangerous because the slope was very deep and while climbing, the boy stumbled and fell many times. So that rate was also inside him.
But because of the promise of bringing the feather to the sage, he continued moving forward. After much searching, toil, and hard work, when he finally reached the cave, he saw that the feather was still there.
It was shining because of the light coming from a big hole above Joe, then he picked up that feather and kept looking at its beauty.
He kept staring at the feather for a long time, but then suddenly he remembered, I still have to go back. He looked at himself, he was completely exhausted. And he read worried about how he would climb the mountain.
And how would he reach the wings to the sage, for a moment he thought of giving up, but he remembered the feeling of happiness and pride that he had felt after reaching the top of the hill.
He realized that he had the strength and courage to complete this journey again. He started climbing the hill again, his muscles were aching and his legs were trembling due to weakness. He was short of breath, staggered and fell several times, but did not give up.
He constantly motivates himself to move forward. After tireless efforts and hours of hard work, when he reached the sage and placed the feather in his hands, his happiness knew no bounds. He felt that he had overcome his laziness today.
And he has done something good. Seeing such a happy and contented expression on his face, the sage smiled and said, “Very well, my dear! Today you have learned a very important lesson of life. That laziness is not something that can be accepted, rather laziness is a challenge that has to be overcome, it is an obstacle that has to be overcome, and to eliminate laziness you have to take the first step.”
You will have to move towards your objective and keep moving until you achieve your destination.
Understanding the depth of the sage's words and his purpose, the boy said, Yes! I shook my head, realizing today that he was always capable of doing big and great things.
But his laziness had held him back, now he knew that he had the strength and toughness to overcome any obstacle that came his way.
After this the sage blessed the boy and left that village.
Moral Of The Story
The thing to be learned from this story is that even if the goal seems impossible, if we push ourselves to achieve it, then we discover within ourselves such strength and power that we never knew about.
To overcome laziness, we must challenge ourselves and dream big. No matter how difficult it is to fulfill that dream, we must keep moving forward (mentally and physically).
One must remain strong despite obstacles and failure. We should make a rule for ourselves and stick to it and develop our daily life. We should develop some habits that will help us stay focused and active even when we don't feel like it.
Overcoming laziness means developing a growth mindset, which means seeing challenges and failures as opportunities for growth and learning, not as opportunities to give up.
