Dilemma
The moment Dave left, the motel we lodged at was visibly quiet.
I repeatedly picked up and put down the phone while I was alone myself and thinking.
Who even would I call?
I couldn't really rely on anyone for an a fair impartial opinion.
My mother and sister couldn't help me since it was too personal.
Sharon was always there.
She had been with Eli since she was 20 though, and firmly believed in fairytale happily ever afters.
Her reality didn't include a young child, a two timing ex, or growing up with a father who had forgotten her and a mother who had spent years being too depressed to leave the house.
I picked up my phone and called the one person I hoped would understand. My nanny who was more like a mom to me growing up, her marriage had been beautiful through and through and I always envisioned something of that sort for myself.
