"My protocol is better than yours"
You shouldn’t compare projects to each other without thoughtful consideration. If you choose to do so, at least exercise discernment.
I lack expertise in the “techy” aspects of the majority of the protocols, which, in my opinion, should disqualify me from participating in certain project-related discussions. But what I’ve been noticing, ( super easy, didn’t even need to get on my Sherlock Holmes cosplay) is that bag holders and limited knowledge Wojaks, often engage in superficial conversations about token price, without understanding the underlying technology. This is not okay on so many levels.
First, we are starting “wars” when there is no need to start one
Like...What is the point? What will it change, who are you trying to convince? Even if the tech backing your favorite protocol is technically superior, but I prefer to use XYZ protocol, what did you get out of this? What benefit did you reap from trying to impose your will? Don’t try to push your narrative on me, because it won't stick, and rest assured that I won’t do that to you.
Second, we are passing an image of ignorance
My father taught me a valuable lesson: if you don’t possess a considerable amount of information, regarding a certain topic, refrain from speaking/running your mouth ( in Portuguese, sounds much more poetic). You may end up looking foolish and losing credibility. So think twice, or instruct yourself. The “World” is watching, and I don’t think belonging to a “toxic and ignorant” community is a nice vision. The media loves to portray crypto like a bunch of fat kiddies fighting over chocolate. Don’t give them a headline!
Third, we are pushing mass adoption…away
Navigating the crypto-verse is considered a daunting and challenging task by many, so stop making it harder for everyone. Of course, people are entitled to have an opinion and share it. Your opinion matters! However, the way you share it is a different story. You should first try to onboard people to Web3, not to your favorite project. Give people a chance to choose. There is a big possibility that your favorite Dapp won’t be their favorite Dapp, so you should be an advocate of fundamentals, not of pumping your bags.
Fourth, we are diving the space
You are creating, division and rivalry, when there is no need for such. is not your “protocol vs the “other protocol”. It's contra-productive. Preach collaboration and growth, and you will see that will be much easier for your favorite project, and for communities to collaborate. B the decentralization, that you want to see. Let people govern their wills as they please (Web3 speaking).
So, let’s stop measuring d*cks, and let’s get back to work. Forget the next “ETH killer”, forget the "Cardano will surpass Bitcoin", and forget the "Ripple will be the World currency". You are not helping anyone, and you are not doing anything for the space. Token prices and tech are two different things, so always bear that in mind. Also remember, "X" project is good, not because is better than "Y" other project, but because it is a good project.
In the meantime try to dig little by little, topics that may be of your interest, and start acquiring valuable information. No, don't do this, to have enough info to start an argument against a third party because by that point, you will find that even though you have the capacity to engage in discussions, you no longer will feel the need to "fight" (put your gloves down Mike T.). You will realize by then, that is not worthy unless you feel the extreme need to act like a hysteric Wojak.
