The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission) focuses on several key objectives:

How Swatch Bharath 🇮🇳 Started?
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission) was launched on October 2, 2014, by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. The campaign was initiated on the 145th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, who was a strong advocate for cleanliness and sanitation.
During the launch of the campaign, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the need to address the sanitation and hygiene challenges faced by India. He envisioned a clean and open-defecation-free India, highlighting that sanitation is not only the responsibility of the government but also the duty of every citizen.
To kickstart the campaign, Prime Minister Modi himself participated in a cleanliness drive in the Valmiki Basti area of New Delhi, where he swept the streets. This act served as a symbolic gesture to inspire and encourage citizens to actively participate in the cleanliness movement.
