A crucial match for the La Liga championship and European spots is scheduled between Los Blancos and Real Betis. The game is set for Sunday, May 26, but the club wants to change it because Swift’s ‘Eras’ concert will be at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu four days later. The Athletic says that the club has asked La Liga to move the game to a different time and date so they can prepare the stadium for the show.

The game is tentatively set for May 26, but Spanish games are often flexible and depend on various sporting and external factors.
Near the end of the season, organisers tend to group games on different days and times based on the possible outcomes for the title, European spots and relegation. The game could have been shifted to Saturday, but Madrid’s request complicates things for the fixture planners.

This summer, Swift’s tour is taking over some of the best football stadiums in Europe. The 34-year-old singer will perform in Lyon, Benfica, Liverpool, Ajax, Schalke, Hamburg and the national arenas of England, Wales, Ireland and Sweden.

WHAT NEXT FOR REAL MADRID?

Real Madrid asked for their last league game of the season to be arranged to suit the preparations for a Taylor Swift show.

Real Madrid are eager to secure the league title soon for both athletic and practical reasons and with a six-point advantage over the initial frontrunners Girona they have a good opportunity to clinch it when Betis come. The spotlight at the Bernabeu this weekend will be on ex-skipper Sergio Ramos, who visits for the first time since leaving the club after a 16-year career full of trophies.
