RAHMA AND THE OLD WOMAN
One day in the city of Medan, North Sumatra, lived a girl named Rahma. Rahma was a kind and diligent girl, but she was also very shy. She had a dream of becoming a doctor, but she lacked confidence to pursue it. Rahma was afraid that she wouldn't be successful.
One day, Rahma was strolling in the city park when she saw an old woman sitting on a bench. The old woman looked very sad. Rahma felt pity for the old woman, so she approached her.
"Are you okay?" Rahma asked.
The old woman lifted her head and smiled at Rahma. "Yes, I'm fine," she said. "I'm just thinking about the past."
Rahma sat down next to the old woman. "What are you thinking about?" she asked.
The old woman sighed. "I'm thinking about the past when I was young," she said. "I had a dream of becoming a teacher, but I could never achieve it."
Rahma listened attentively. "Why couldn't you fulfill your dream?" she asked.
The old woman lowered her head. "I lacked confidence," she said. "I was afraid that I wouldn't be successful."
Rahma smiled. "You don't need to be afraid," she said. "If you have dreams, you should pursue them. Never give up."
The old woman looked at Rahma with sparkling eyes. "Thank you," she said. "You have given me hope."
Rahma and the old woman chatted for hours. They talked about dreams, aspirations, and hopes. Rahma felt inspired by the old woman. She realized that she should not give up on her dreams.
The next day, Rahma returned to the city park. She looked for the old woman, but she was not there. Rahma felt sad, but she also felt grateful. She had met someone who had given her hope.
Rahma was determined to pursue her dreams. She studied hard and worked diligently. Finally, she graduated from medical school. She became a good and dedicated doctor. She always remembered the old woman's message: "If you have dreams, you should pursue them. Never give up."
Rahma met the old woman again a few years later. The old woman was delighted to see that Rahma had successfully realized her dreams. She was proud of Rahma.
Rahma and the old woman remained friends until the end of their lives. They were a reminder that hope is always there, even in the darkest moments.
