Difference Between RAM And ROM !
Friends, today we will discuss the Top 10 main differences between RAM and ROM. So first we will understand what RAM and ROM are and then go into the differences. So let's start;
What is RAM
The full from of RAM is Random Access Memory. It is a hardware device, which resides on the motherboard of the computer. The job of RAM is to send the tasks given by the user to the CPU. Meaning, the work of RAM is to store all the instructions or tasks given by the user in the system on a temporary basis and later provide or send all those instructions to the processor. Therefore RAM is called the primary memory or personal assistant of the CPU.
WHAT IS ROM
Full from of ROM is Read Only Memory. Like RAM, ROM is also a primary memory of the computer. ROM is a non-volatile memory, meaning all the data stored in it is stored on permanent basis. Its data does not get erased even after power cut or switch off. One more thing that is important for you to know is that the data present in ROM is given by the computer manufacturer only. The user is not given any chance to fill the data.
10 main differences between RAM and ROM
RAM :-
- RAM Full From is Random Access Memory.
ROM :-
- ROM full from is Read Only Memory.
RAM :-
- RAM is used to store the data processed by the CPU on a temporary basis.
ROM :-
- And it stores all the main fundamental settings and hardware level settings of the entire computer. And when the computer starts, it starts only after following all those instructions.
RAM :-
- RAM acts as CPU Cache and Primary memory.
ROM :-
- ROM acts as Firmware and Micro-controllers.
RAM :-
- RAM is a temporary memory, hence it is also called volatile memory.
ROM :-
- On the other hand, ROM is a permanent memory, and it is also called non-volatile memory.
RAM :-
- The data stored in RAM can be easily modified or deleted.
ROM :-
- But the data stored in ROM cannot be modified or deleted.
RAM :-
- RAM is a Read/Write memory.
ROM :-
- ROM is a read only memory.
RAM :-
- RAM has a lot of capacity to store data. Approximately several GB, and we can increase it if we want.
ROM :-
- But the capacity of ROM to store data is very less, and it cannot be increased.
RAM :-
- The price of RAM is much higher than that of ROM.
ROM :-
- ROM is much cheaper than RAM.
RAM :-
- In this, data can be read and written faster, hence it is also called fast memory.
ROM :-
- In this, the speed of reading data is high, but the speed of writing is slow.
RAM :-
- There are two types of RAM, Static RAM and Dynamic RAM.
ROM :-
- And there are five types of ROM – MROM, PROM, EPROM, EEPROM, Flash ROM.
CONCLUSION
