Introduction

Yesterday, I was absent from the family meeting and didn't publish an article because I was busy fulfilling a long-cherished dream: setting up a new aquarium. I wanted to relive some of my special days, so I spent the entire day working on it. I brought the aquarium home, set it up right beside my bed, and created a comfortable space for the fishes. Afterward, I enjoyed a good night's sleep. Although it required a lot of work, it was worth it because it brought me inner peace.

Everyone has their own way of finding inner peace and happiness, something that brings immense pleasure without asking for anything in return. It could be anything—traveling, cooking, reading, watching movies, gossiping, making travel vlogs, food vlogs, exercising, and so on. There are countless options, each unique to over 7 billion people in this world. It's natural for everyone to have different desires, right? For me, it's simple: to be with someone in a peaceful place like this. Although I haven't found my soulmate yet, I prefer to be alone for now.

The Past

It all began when I had a big dream in mind. Let's not dwell on those broken dreams. It was mid-2018, and I was far from home, working as an executive officer at Huawei Technology. The work pressure was immense. After a long day, I would return to my room alone and tired, feeling sad and listening to music. This routine continued until one day, I encountered a man carrying fishes in a plastic bag. There was a big goldfish in it, and suddenly, a forgotten hobby resurfaced in my mind. I decided to get one for myself. I asked for the shop's location, went there, bought a mini aquarium, and set it up. That was just the beginning; later on, I bought a giant aquarium too.

The Present

History repeated itself. What I left behind in 2018 caught up with me again in late 2021. I was under a lot of work pressure, and once again, the idea of an aquarium came to mind. I told you all that I was working too hard and feeling down. I needed something to refresh my mind, to calm me down, to inspire me—and this was it.

This aquarium is now helping me manage my stress, and it's working. Three years have passed, but the emotions remain the same. I managed to bring this one home. I looked online for home delivery options but couldn't find any, so I decided to do it myself. I visited a nearby pet shop but found no fishes there! What on earth was happening? With no other option, I visited another shop farther away. Luckily, it was open, and I found what I was looking for. I bought everything I needed: an aquarium with air control, fish food, sea salt, medicines, antifungal drops, lights, a glass cleaner, and of course, the fishes. After returning home and having some food, I started setting up everything. It took five hours to complete. After a shower, I finally entered my room.

After turning off the lights, I sat beside the aquarium and watched the fishes eat and swim around. My heart started beating more calmly, my nerves relaxed, and my mind felt at ease. I immediately felt a deep sense of happiness the inner peace I was searching for.

Some things in my life have never changed: the search for happiness, the search for peace, and the healing of the heart. I was looking for it in the past, I'm looking for it now, and I don't know when I'll stop—unless someone stops me. But for now, I have found it. Years have passed, people have left me behind, and some have even betrayed me, but I have remained the same: a soul searching for peace.
