Tesla Strikes Again!
I will preface this post with the fact that I am a massive Elon Musk fan, and early investor in Tesla, so you will no doubt see some bias in this post!! Now that's out of the way let's get to it!
Tesla just announced their Q1 earnings and they were HUGE, $18.76Billion in revenue, with $3.22 earnings per share and Gross profit of $5.54Billion. What amazes is the fact that so many people expected Tesla to fail for so long.
I have enjoyed following this journey as I feel we are witnessing a success story for not only the environment, but also for resilience and defeating the haters.
Elon Musk, while he is very erratic, has a lot of people that dislike him and want him to fail. Yet he has proven time and time again that he can deliver. He has executional efficiency, he has done so with Paypal, Tesla and SpaceX.
See below for what I enjoy about this success story.
ESG
This is a given, and one of the main reasons for early adoption of Tesla among it's users. However, there has been a big push for Countries to go green by 2050 and I can only see the demand for Electric Vehicles increasing. This revolution in part was started by Tesla!
Executional Efficiency
There is a saying, "Winners know how to win", while it sound simple and somewhat silly, after decades in high performance sport I can concur it is true. Top performers, know how to win and do it in all parts of their life. It is part of their DNA.
Elon has shown this time and time again, and it's the reason he is the Worlds richest person. However, everyone expected him to fail on so many occasions, so what got him through? Resilience and maybe a bit Hopium?
Resilience
Having the mental fortitude to ignore haters and continue working on your passion is a huge skillset to have. There will be times you struggle and have little support, but as long as you don't give in then there will always be a way. I respect Elon's resilience, executional efficiency and what he is doing for the environment!
Tesla Outlook
Tesla have suggested that supply chain issues will still be an issue for Q2, however they managed to deliver Q1 with these issues too. I can only see them going from strength to strength and continue to learn from one of the best.
What are your takes on Tesla or Elon Musk?
