The Unexpected Winner: Choosing The Right Path In Life

A long time ago, two Arab friends found a map of a huge treasure. The treasure was in the middle of a desert.

Both of them started planning. It would take a very long time to reach the treasure and there was a danger of dying of hunger and thirst on the way. After much consideration, both of them decided to include another intelligent friend in this plan, so that they could take another camel with them which would also carry a lot of food items and if the treasure was more then they could use it. Can also be carried on camel.

But the question arose that whose election should be made?

After much deliberation, Mohammad and Rizwan were selected. Both were exactly alike in every way and it was difficult to say who was more intelligent among the two? Therefore, it was decided to select the right person through a competition.

Both the friends called them to a certain place and said, “You all have to ride on your respective camels and proceed on the path seen in front. After going some distance, this path will divide into two different paths – one right and one wrong. The person who follows the right path will become our third companion and one-third of the treasure will be his.”

Both of them started moving forward and reached the point where the road divided.

After reaching there, Mohammad looked around, he did not understand any difference between the two paths and he quickly moved towards the left. Whereas, Rizwan kept looking at those paths for a long time, and kept thinking about the consequences of proceeding on them.

After about an hour, dust was seen flying on the left side path. Mohammad was coming back on that path very fast.
As soon as he saw her, Rizwan smiled and said, “Wrong path?”

“Yes, perhaps!”, replied Mohammed.

Both the friends were watching all this secretly and he immediately came in front of them and said, “Congratulations!

“Thank you!”, Rizwan immediately replied.

“Not you, we have chosen Mohammad.”, both friends said together.

“But Mohammad had moved forward on the wrong path… then why is he being chosen?”, Rizwan said angrily.

Because he found out which is the wrong path and now he can move forward on the right path, whereas you spent the whole time just sitting at one place wondering which path is right and which is wrong. Wisdom lies not in overthinking about anything, but in working on it after a while and learning from the experience.”, the friends concluded.

Friends, sometimes there comes a point in our life where we are not able to decide which path is right and which is wrong. And in such a situation, many people waste a lot of their time just thinking. Whereas, what is needed is that instead of over-analyzing things, like Mohammed, one should carefully consider one's options and take action and move forward based on one's experience.
