Pi Network | I Don’t Think They Are Launching in 2025 Either | Happy To Be Wrong!

What Am I Talking About?

I heard about Pi Network the first time in 2019 and I kept a safe distance from it. Not that I had anything against it, but I wasn’t so sure about a coin/token that kept asking for referrals without any time for launch.

Fast forward to 2023 and the token was still around. It wasn’t launched but IOUs were floating at $300 and eventually came down to $50. Coingecko clearly warns users that IOUs are not the same as Pi tokens as the Mainnet hasn't launched yet.

I know that the Mainnet is not launched even now but I suspect we will never see the end of the launch going to happen part.

What’s My Beef About?

Being a fairly sound crypto player, I know which tokens to take seriously and the ones to give a pass. I changed my opinion about Pi in 2023 though I had given it a pass in 2019. I got involved because someone known to me told me to mine Pi on the phone. I think, more than the known person, it was the mining on the phone part that got me.

Why? Because back in 2019, I did mine one more token on my phone and it worked out perfectly. I am talking about VITE. And before that, I think in 2017 or 2018 I even got some NULS tokens for interacting with the chain. So, there were some earlier precedence and some blind spots. I ignored the blind spots and went with Pi mining.

So, roughly in my journey of mining 200 Pi tokens, I have seen three postponements in the Mainnet launch. The most recent being 31st December 2024. Now, they claim it to be the first quarter of 2025. Hmm… what am I doing here?

I Am Still Going To Be Patient | Not That I Can Do Anything Otherwise

And why not? The $Pi network claims they have 18 million users as of today and they are growing. That’s the good part. The logic-defying part is why would a network not launch during the bull run. That too for one that has been around for so long? Any logic?

I hope that they do launch and I get a VITE experience rather than turn out to be something dud. Despite my skepticism, I wish the team all the best!
