Empty Article: A Journey of Feedback, Reinstatement, and the Power of Constructive Criticism

As someone trying to reignite my passion for writing, I confess to being relatively new to Bulb and unfamiliar with all of its workings. So, I was surprised and saddened to see a notification indicating that one of my articles had been reported. Quite frankly, it wasn't a pleasant experience.

Upon seeing the notification, I realized it wasn't the first complaint about my article - I had simply overlooked the previous one. I clicked the notification and read the report, which prompted me to understand why my article had been flagged. Despite its label as a 7-minute read, the article was essentially empty - it contained only a title. The report was right to identify this as misleading, a sentiment I shared since my submission turned out to be unreadable.

It was unexpected to see my lengthy post reported for this reason, especially when tapping the "Edit" button revealed my original content. After emailing Bulb about the issue four days prior without getting a response, I decided to raise the matter in the community by starting a thread. In doing so, I discovered that @BlockX1 had reported my article, though I wasn't sure if both complaints had come from the same user.

Honestly, I'm grateful to @BlockX1  for bringing this to my attention. Without the report, I wouldn't have noticed the issue with my article. The alert was beneficial and constructive.

Admittedly, this experience has dampened my spirits slightly and decreased my points on Bulb. Despite the challenges of writing, I keep coming back and using up my daily energy allowance. After my article was taken down, I decided to submit an appeal. The content of my email, thread, and appeal were all quite similar. I remember a 500-bulb fee for appealing, which I paid, hoping not only for my article's reinstatement but also for an understanding of why this had happened.

While I do have other articles on the platform that weren't as long as the reported one, none of them were flagged for missing content. Recently, upon seeing a new notification, I was relieved to learn that my article had been reinstated thanks to the moderators accepting my appeal.

Grateful to @andrew- and other community moderators for the actions taken and for voting to retain my article “Unraveling the Mystery of Eye Floaters: A Quest for Clarity”.

I want to clarify that I never intended to submit an empty article on Bulb.

After verifying that my articles had been restored, I noticed they were still effectively empty despite the 7-minute read label. The issue remains unsolved and I can't give you a clear answer  @Authenticsea  about why this occurred.

Until now, I still harbor hope for an explanation as to why my article was presented this way, and, of course, if there is a possibility for the content of my article to appear. I am fearful that this scenario may recur, and the article will be reported again due to the absence of any visible content.

Final words

It appears that what occurred in my article was merely an eye floater. I hope for clarity similar to the realization I had when questioning why I was experiencing eye floaters. ☺
