The great Sumant Mulgaokar.
This the story of the great man Sumant Mulgaokar🤟.
This Idealism is Mr. Sumant Mulgaonkar had a goal and did not compromise on it. A good example of this is a Telco factory and its production. With the demise of Mulgaonkar, this country has lost an honest and highly efficient gentleman in the field of manufacturing. Ideals, integrity, gentility and efficiency are all very difficult to maintain in today's time and environment; But Mulgaonkar achieved this. After graduating with a degree in science, he took a degree in architecture from London. There, along with book education, one had to work in the actual factory and only then get the degree. When Mulgaonkar returned with his degree, there was a wave of recession. After trying a few places, he got a job in a cement factory in Katni, Madhya Pradesh; But for the first six months he had to work without pay, then he worked for very little wages. The war came and then it became urgent to set up more cement factories here. This responsibility fell on Mulgaon Karo. A. C. C. was established and the factories set up by Mulgaonkars started; But it was during Buddha's time that the government of Tela sent a group of technicians to Europe and America. Mr. J. R. D. Tata and Mulgaonkar were in it. The 'glue' for connecting the bricks to each other is cementAsked and suggested to give it to Tata company. He accepted some principles and started work i Jamshetpur. Fortunately, a company called Mercedes-Benz began providing technical assistance and producing dead trucks. It was the government's condition that indigenously made freight cars should be ready within days, which was fulfilled. The Germans would have no shortage of quality goods. Mulgaonkar also wanted this. This led to the telco's fleet being first class and continuously improved. If any factory is to be kept under control, how much should be its occupation, the people of Mulgaon used to calculate. Due to this, it was taken into consideration that the factory at Jamshetpur would not get out of hand by expanding it hugely, and it was decided to set up a Telco factory at Pune.Today Telco's factory in Pune is first rate both in terms of production and management. Mulgaonkar is the standard bearer of his credit. During and after the war, Mulgaonkar had experienced that we always lacked and lacked first-class technicians, spare parts and research departments to continuously improve the product, so when Mulgaonkar decided to set up a Telco factory in Pune, the first thing he gave importance to was Technicians from all walks of life to train and prepare the company. He also set up a research department and arranged for the manufacture of spare parts. As a result, the Pune factory, after its establishment in 1966, did not produce goods vehicles for about twelve years.Any company director would find this difficult; But J. R. D. Tata knew the secret. He said that the people of Mulgaon do not want to set up a factory but want to establish an industry. Tata knew the difference between a factory and an industry and therefore Mulgaonkar was able to set up an ideal enterprise. Mulgaonkar is a very mild mannered gentleman. They are few talkers and as handsome as they are tall, looking at a clean factory like a telco, you don't feel like you are in a factory. As the factory president mingles with the workers, other officials also mingle and exchange ideas. Mulgaonkar had another habit. If they see a telco goods vehicle while on tour, they stop it and talk to the driver and inquire how the motor is running, what are the problems etc.Mulgaonkar did not think of his work as just a profession. He had faith in it. He was obsessed with it and he focused on the research department as he had a vision for the village to make the goods we produce better. He considered it his duty to teach and create techniques. This is a great contribution to the automobile industry. His position in this business in the country was that of adviser and friend. If the factory is to be ideal, some decisions have to be taken harshly. The mild-mannered Mulgaonkars took it as it was, because they used to take decisions thinking only about the prestige of their factory. This makes it easier to take tough decisions, he says.Mulgaonkar was well supported by his wife Smt. Leelabai and Mulgaonkar used to participate in Leelabai' social services works. In some villages in the area, work has been going on for some years without any fuss in relation to agricultural reform, education and health. Mulgaonkar was the inspiration behind this. Mulgaonkars, who were once hunters, gave up hunting and embraced the camera. Photography was his hobby and his excellent photographs could be exhibited. His other hobby is planting trees. While setting up the factory in Pune, he planted one lakh trees and this has made the area beautiful today. As there is so much vegetation that attracts many birds, the Telco has established an arboretum. Out of that, lakhs of trees were distributed. This social vision of Mulgaonkar was admirable. A Chinese saying goes, if you want to plan for thirty years, plant trees, and if you want to plan for a hundred years, build people. Mulgaonkar did both. The life of Mulgaonkar was contented and grateful.
This is the story of her factory and her life.
