US Debt vs Bitcoin Supply
This image speaks volumes and I find it absolutely hilarious!
It gives an interesting perspective on an inflation factor as it relates to the difference between the US national debt trends and bitcoin. The US creates more money to cover ever growing debt, therefore adding to the total supply and diluting the overall value. This is considered to be a key element to inflation. Bitcoin, on the other hand, also increases its supply over time but instead of rapidly accelerating the amount over time, its tend is to half its rate of creation every few years.
The difference is absurd!
So, if the national debt continues to skyrocket, payment for the interest alone will become impossible. Nobody really knows what happens then. Perhaps, a massive crash or a transition to an alternative form of money. The Bitcoin and cryptocurrency advocates see crypto as a viable choice.
I hope we don't need to find out.
