CD Projekt Red has begun work on the new Cyberpunk game Orion in Boston. While the Phantom Liberty expansion broke records, they will take the series further with Orion.

CD Projekt Red's Boston division has begun work on the new Cyberpunk game. Cyberpunk 2077's Mission Director Pawel Sasko shared exciting news about the new game on Twitter. Sasko stated that the core team in Boston is having "exciting discussions on the next Cyberpunk 2077 game". This situation shows that the new project has started.

Sasko said, "It's great to be back at work, even in snowy Boston! We've had some great conversations with our core group about the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 game. I love this team and our dystopian IP," said Sasko. He also shared part of the team, saying, "Pictured: me and Sarah Gruemmer, Expert Mission Designer, who gave you Judy's story."

The upcoming Cyberpunk game "Orion" is intended to take the series even further and utilise the potential of the dark future universe. The core team of Cyberpunk 2077 and the staff of CD Projekt Red's Vancouver branch will work on this new chapter.


CDPR also announced during its earnings conference call in the first quarter of 2023 that the research and development phase of Project Orion would begin in 2024. Now that we're in 2024, we're hoping to learn more about the next instalment in this well-known franchise.

Cyberpunk 2077's expansion pack, Phantom Liberty, broke records by selling 5 million copies in less than three months.
