goal of eliminating anemia
Presenting the general budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that a target has been set to eliminate anemia by the year 2047. During this, he said that by the year 2047, a mission will be started to eliminate sickle cell anemia.
He also said that people from 0 to 40 years are more affected by this disease. In such a situation, preparations will be made for the screening of 7 crore people in the country. Apart from this, the Central Ministry and State Governments will also be encouraged for the health sector.
157 new nursing colleges started
Under the General Budget 2023, the Finance Minister also announced the opening of 157 new nursing colleges.
He said that 157 new nursing colleges would be set up in co-location with the existing 157 medical colleges established since 2014, where students would be trained. Along with this, the focus will also be on increasing jobs in the health sector.
Millets got encouragement
Making another announcement for the health sector, the Finance Minister also announced to provide facilities for research in selected labs of ICMR.
Apart from this, it has also been announced to make the Indian Institute of Millet Research, Hyderabad, a center of excellence for the purpose of promoting millets to make India a global center for millet research.
Pharma Innovation
The Union Budget 2023 also emphasizes on promoting research and innovation. For this, the Finance Minister has announced to start a new programme, in which industries will also be encouraged to invest.
Apart from this, Nirmala Sitharaman has also announced to promote primary hospitals.
Medical Equipment Syllabus
It has also been announced to bring a multidisciplinary course dedicated to medical devices under the new budget. It also aims to work for future medical technologies, high-end manufacturing and research.
Not only this, public and private sector medical colleges and private sector R&D teams will also be encouraged for collaborative research and innovation.
