What's next for (blockchain) games? https://youtu.be/qjFIbY6LD64

This video is a combination op-ed and primer on #cryptogaming / #gamefi from one of the most interesting writers working in the #web3gaming space.

There's this line Jon draws through gaming history looking at the cost per hour to the user for gaming. It's been on a steep decline even as total revenues have been on a steep incline. A bunch of that is down to player generated content.

The biggest gaming properties today see most of their entertainment value, per hour, generated by the players themselves. That number really comes into it's own should you consider the media content players generate that lives outside of the game itself.

Now #blockchaingames are looking to take that cost per hour and turn it into a positive number for players.

Whilst #playtoearn has rightly attracted a lot of criticism the idea that players should own the assets they have created and value is hardly a controversial stance.

Furthermore it's not controversial that players should be able to trade those assets how and when they want.

In fact, if you were to look at this another way, it's kind of insane we didn't (and still don't in most cases) let these creator players own their own work.

As Jon lays out succinctly in the video
