Osimhen help Napoli Secure victory for their tenth straight game.
On Sunday at the Stadio Diego Maradona, Napoli defeated a tenacious Bologna 3-2 thanks to a goal in the second half from Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, according to The PUNCH.
Osimhen scored for the second time in a row after recovering from the injury that kept him out of action for six weeks.
When they hosted Serie A strugglers Bologna, the Partenopeans were aiming for their 10th straight victory across all competitions, but the visitors made them fight hard for their points.
Osimhen returned to the bench on Sunday after scoring on his injury comeback against Ajax in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, but manager Luciano Spalletti called on him to make a big play.
Bologna initially proved to be a tough nut to crack, but they showed potential in attack thanks to Joshua Zirkzee's persistent probing of Napoli's backline.
Napoli got the majority of possession, but they made no significant progress. Five minutes before halftime, Bologna showed off some brilliant play in the final third, and Zirkzee was on the end of it to fire a low shot past Meret to score it 1-0.
