Have You Heard The News???
Linkin Park Is Back!
And guess who the new frontman will be?
Nobody, the guys did the diversity thingy and turned a man into a woman. Still a man but with a wo for WOW.
Time Stop Crying
ItΒ΄s time to stop the whining, Chester was the face but really heΒ΄s been dead long enough now to do a V2. And I saw the chat last night all the puppies still typing RIP Chester while most probably were not even born when Linkin Park had their first show.
The Jester is dead Long Live The Queen
There is always a time to say goodbye, a time to swallow that last tear and move on, and that moment is different for everyone. But even when you are still swallowing there is a time to kick your own butt and move on.
That time is now.
Emptiness Machine - Linkin Park 2.0
For those who missed it, this is the new single of the upcoming album and well just listen and make up your own open-minded opinion.
Personally, I was not crushed by the start of the song but then Dead Sara started singing and I was like Hell Yeah. That is no Chester 2.0 but this lady can share emotions.
Of course, Dead Sara is not her real name, but Emily Armstrong sounds so Tennessee. So I will stick with Dead Sara for this post or just Sara. And as per the comment below the video, Sara Got Some Pipes!
Whose Dead Sara
Dead Sara seems to have been around quite a while and while I always am digging for new unknown gems, I never found her/them.
Hence, before accepting her and Linkin Park 2.0 I needed to know how this cookie crumbled. Because she sounds like a babe with balls when she does LP.
Sara 9 years ago; The first song I checked out was not really representative, because what is this, power country pop?
Not bad, semi-original, but not a gem in my book so far we missed nothing.
Doro Pech?
For some reason, this next song got me into a Doro Pech vibe, more her solo stuff, not the Warlock stuff. Still an interesting step up from Power Country Pop.
Two years ago, sounding like The Sounds being genetically engineered to sound like No Doubt.
I love The Sounds & No Doubt so this song went down well, almost a Gem I would say.
Early Sara
Not sure if this was before she was dead I did not check the expiration date but I do love one of the earlier songs I found.
Still, I hear that country background, but I, kinda like it although there is very little uniqueness this is one that would have made my Gems list.
Damn, Those Pipes!
Live Pipes!
Guess the studio work proves a diverse singer with pipes of steal. But does she keep that up on stage letΒ΄s do a Little Live Dead Sara.
Okay, she is definitely a force to be reckoned with, but what could have made LP want her to take the lead? This might very well be why!
What I Like Best
Anyone, ever heard about the band Bettie Serveert with Pallomine? Talking about Nineties Greatest Tunes;
Mix that with The Last Dinner Party and you get this Gem from The Dead.
Bikini Bottom Line
Overall, I really think her voice is great, I really like how she can take ownership of a song and not do a Chester. Hence I applaud the Band on ending up with Dead Sara.
At the same point in time, Ind realized life will never be the same again, Linkin Park will never sound the same again, and that is a good thing.
Those days are over, but the music-making days of one of the more influential bands of the past decennia should not be over because the frontman could no longer deal with the pain.
In the End, they might not be as Numb as they once were, they might not be crawling to get as big as they once were. But they are breaking the habit of quitting after a frontman dies and found a new place, somewhere they now belong.
This was the full Linkin Park set with the new Front Wo Man and she ainΒ΄t called Sara and she sure as hell ainΒ΄t dead.
Thank Goodness you made it to the end and did not do a Chester because of my post.
