WHO'S WHAT SUPERMAN? - 3
The Character's Personality and Significance for Comics History:
As we have mentioned many times. The Superman era began with stories and issues that were written with his patriotic hero identity very much scrutinized due to the period in which he was created. He was raised with the patriotic American values of being good, believing in justice, honesty and freedom in the countryside. No matter how super alien Clark was, the fact that you get what you are given as a child was no different for the Man of Steel. However, as the world globalized and science fiction and technology elements diversified with science and sci-fi developments, this was reflected in comics.
What followed was a more extraterrestrial, more mature and more neutral Superman, no matter how much of an earthling he was. He is no longer the protector of America. He became the protector of the whole Earth, of the Galaxy, and even of all the good things in the universe that needed to be protected. For years, he followed the motto of not killing anything that was alive, that had a soul, that had a conscience, and this has been one of the most beloved characteristics of Superman and Batman, and even most DC Comics Heroes, for years.
Superman was childishly idealistic and innocent enough to be called "Boy Scout", visionary and mature enough to be called "Man of Tomorrow", mighty and senior enough to be called "God of Modern Times". All of these combined around the most ideal of ethical values to create perhaps the most original and ideal superhero in history.
Superman was the first and the greatest of all touchstones for comics. Not only because he was the first great Superhero to be published. But also for his character, his concept, his origin story and his design. He became a universal icon of popular American culture and popular visual arts. A comic book world or a fantasy science fiction world without Superman is unimaginable.
Our Superman's Powers:
Just as we did with Batman's introduction, we can't talk about Superman's powers without mentioning how he is a man who is both true to his ethics and to the identity that makes him who he is, and how determined he is. Superman is a man who never kills any "thing" that is alive, that he thinks may have a soul, that he thinks may have a choice, free will or that he thinks may change even a little bit, and who never pushes the limits of his power in order not to leave a scary and frightening impression on people (unlike Batman), and who always humorously hangs out in "economic" mode. This is not to say that Superman is stupid or weak, but we know that when push comes to shove, Superman can turn into an armada capable of destroying planets, star systems, even star systems, and doing incredible godlike deeds. With that said, let's take a look at some of the skills and abilities of the Big Blue Boy Scout.
- It is a living Solar Battery. She has a body fueled by Yellow Star Energy.By absorbing electromagnetic radiation from Yellow and Blue Stars or Suns, he can increase his physical and mental status many times over. Under the influence of Red Star Rays, he weakens and turns into an ordinary human being. In systems with a sun from the Blue Star, his power is twice that of Earth.
- In comic books, the most powerful characters (at least in the ancient times) were usually 100th strength class characters. The 100th strength level meant that they could lift weights of 100 tons or more under normal conditions. Superman shattered this class in the early years of his creation.
- In particular, the Silver Age Superman was powerful enough to link planets together with a special chain and orbit them in the Solar System.
- He has carried Black Holes and Limbos of infinite weight. He has carried the infinity book of infinite weight and the Spectre.
- Likewise, in the All-Star Superman series written by Grant Morrison, the Superman of the All-Star Superman series has withstood 200 quadrillion tons, the last weight that scientists can measure, without any difficulty with one hand. And what's even more interesting is that this is not even his limit, because he has lifted a cosmic object called "The Infinity Pages", which has infinite weight. So his buoyancy is unlimited.
- It can go down to the solar core. He can touch the essence of the Suns and Stars, pure energy.
- It does not get hungry, it does not get thirsty, it does not breathe, it does not get tired, it does not sweat. It can heal very quickly, it can easily get rid of deadly situations, either with the solar energy it has accumulated before or with the direct effect of the sun.
