Bronny James has been a target for the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the NBA Draft, but a recent report by ESPN's Bob Myers reveals that his agent, Rich Paul, is advising other teams not to draft him. If they do, Bronny might choose to play in Australia instead. However, this warning does not apply to the Lakers. NBA rules state that if a player is drafted but signs with a foreign league, the drafting team retains their rights until a year after their foreign contract ends, opening up trade possibilities. Contrary to speculations, Paul told ESPN that Bronny's draft pick and team are about finding the right fit, not necessarily the Lakers. Additionally, LeBron James is no longer fixated on playing with his son, and his potential re-signing with the Lakers isn't contingent on them drafting Bronny. With LeBron able to become a free agent this offseason, the Lakers are reportedly ready to offer him a three-year max contract. The team, alongside LeBron and Anthony Davis, is focused on adding veteran talent to pursue another championship. The Lakers recently used their No. 17 pick to draft Dalton Knecht from Tennessee, and for now, trade rumors are quiet.
