I would like to share how to cook delicious cheese and bacon pull apart rolls in a slow cooker, instead of the traditional method which involves an oven.

The recipe itself is very simple to follow and consists of self raising flour, cheese, bacon, mixed herbs, milk, butter and salt - though additional elements may be added if desired, such as olives or onion.

Ingredients
60g Melted Butter
2 Cups of Self-Raising Flour (Sifted)
1 Cup of Milk
Small sprinkle of Italian Herbs (Optional)
A pinch of Salt
Diced Bacon
Grated Cheese

Instructions
1. Mix the flour, salt and milk in a bowl until combined. It should form a sticky dough.

2. Next sprinkle some flour onto the bench or a board to knead the dough. Keep doing this until it is no longer sticky and feels like a springy elastic dough.

3. Once that is done, form it into whatever shape you want Eg. Bread Roll Balls or just a Bread Loaf.

4. Once dough is formed, add the Cheese and Bacon on the top. I precooked my bacon.

5. Line the Slow Cooker with Baking Paper (I used 2 sheets) and put your bread dough in.

6. Cook on high for 2hours. Cooking times may vary with different types of slow cookers.

7. Once cooked remove from slow cooker and allow to cool slightly before brushing with butter.

As this was my first attempt at this recipe I was impressed at how well they turned out. A lit bit crispy on some of the edges but that's my favourite part.

Next time I will try adding some of the cheese and bacon mix into the dough.

These rolls were easy-to-bake, are freezable and make great snacks for weekends or after school.
