Greetings, friends… In the last decade, numerous earthquakes have occurred worldwide. These natural disasters have caused significant damage and loss of life in local communities. Each earthquake has a unique story for the affected region. Here is the narrative of some significant earthquakes during this period:
2010 Haiti Earthquake: In 2010, an earthquake struck Haiti, causing massive destruction in the capital city of Port-au-Prince. Thousands lost their lives, and millions were left homeless. Haiti’s already weak infrastructure suffered extensive damage.
2011 Japan Earthquake and Tsunami: An earthquake and subsequent tsunami in northeastern Japan led to a Chernobyl-like nuclear disaster at the Fukushima nuclear power plant. This event brought immense sorrow and loss to Japan.
2015 Nepal Earthquake: The earthquake that struck Nepal caused widespread destruction, particularly in the capital city of Kathmandu. Thousands lost their lives, villages were devastated, and Nepal’s historical monuments suffered damage. The country accepted international aid in the process of overcoming this disaster.
