NewJeans - The GOAT K-Pop Group?

K-pop... so unique, so fancy, so unique, so... young?

For the past decade, Korean pop (K-pop) has steadily made its entrance onto the global music stage, from Psy's "Gangnam Style" to more recently the Billboard-charting hits from BTS. It's quite crazy to see how far K-pop has come, but after a huge wave of K-pop craze, it seems like the hype is dying down. Or is it?

NewJeans was an immediate hit - imagine a large lake in a deep cave that has been still and stagnant for centuries, then a boulder the size of a house lands right in the middle of it. I digress. However, it's fair to say that NewJeans might be on track to become the greatest K-Pop group ever if it keeps rolling out the hits. They started with a nation-wide phenomenon of "Hype Boy", then brought out a banger called "Ditto", followed by an insanely addictive "OMG". Their latest EP "Get Up" didn't reach the level of eargasm as the previous hits but peaked at #1 on the US Billboard 200 anyway. They're just a chart-topper factory.
