Being Nice
Being a nicer person isn't as difficult as we make it out to be. There are things you can do in your everyday interactions with others to demonstrate compassion, empathy, and kindness.
Be Honest: Maintain your integrity and values. You can be honest while still expressing yourself nicely. Being nice does not imply that you never say "no" to people or do things you do not want to do. Setting firm and fair boundaries demonstrate that you care about your mental and emotional health.
When you feel safe and respected, it is easier to be nice to others.
Acts of kindness: Being a nice person entails acting with kindness, and research indicates that kindness can have a positive effect on your brain. Individual acts of kindness appear to promote the formation of new neural connections by releasing oxytocin and endorphins.
Being kind is a habit that reinforces itself. Because we crave the feel-good sensation that comes from being kind, one act of kindness can easily lead to another.
Keep an open mind: Life is full of ups and downs. When we are confronted with unfamiliar ideas, situations, or people, negative emotions can arise, making it difficult to be nice. Open-mindedness is a necessary trait for learning and absorbing information without bias.
Maintaining an open mind can assist you in navigating unfamiliar territory while remaining calm and relaxed. It's much easier to be nice when you're at ease with yourself and your surroundings—even when life throws you curveballs.
