Ernest Hemingway was a prolific American author and won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1954. Here are some of his most notable works:


The Old Man and the Sea (1952):
This novella is one of Hemingway's most famous works, telling the story of an aging Cuban fisherman's battle with a giant marlin.


A Farewell to Arms (1929):
Set during World War I, this novel follows the love affair between an American ambulance driver in the Italian army and a British nurse.


For Whom the Bell Tolls (1940):
This novel is set during the Spanish Civil War and follows an American dynamiter who is fighting for the Republicans.


The Sun Also Rises (1926):
This novel is often considered one of Hemingway's masterpieces and is set in the 1920s, exploring the lives of expatriates in post-World War I Paris and Spain.


A Moveable Feast (1964):
Published posthumously, this memoir recounts Hemingway's years in Paris as part of the expatriate community in the 1920s. It provides insight into his writing process and relationships with other famous literary figures.


To Have and Have Not (1937):
This novel is set in Key West and Cuba during the Great Depression and follows a down-on-his-luck fishing boat captain.


Islands in the Stream (1970):
Published posthumously, this novel is set during World War II and explores the life of a painter in the Gulf Stream.
