Nigeria is a country in Africa
It is a land richly blessed
With natural and human resources
Decorated with large and healthy vegetation
A Land of beauty and splendor

All the great resources, all by God
All of us that we may live ahead
All for us that we may love our God
For the wellbeing of every Nigerian

Paupers in wealth, thirsty by the Riverside
Injustice, nepotism, bribery and corruption
Waste, chronic waste, endless wastes!
Pathetic suffering in the midst of wealth
A Land of beauty and splendor

"Nigeria, we hail thee!" We sang
We swore." Though tribes and tougues,
May differ, in brotherhood we stand."
Herdman, Boko Haram, are we truly brothers?

A Land of beauty and splendor?
Where there is no security?
Oppression, injustice and corruption?
No one is allowed to say the truth;
How will we build this land, again?
