This picture was taken in the once first skyscraper in Africa located in the beautiful city of Ibadan, Nigeria. It was completed in July 1964 and commissioned in July 1965. At a height of 105 metres, it was the first skyscraper in West Africa between 1965-1979. Built from the proceed of cocoa, being the major source of revenue in the colonial period in Nigeria.
Ibadan being a magnificent town has produced great and astute individuals and institutions such as the premier University of Ibadan, Mapo Hall to mention a few.

An interesting fact about Ibadan is the value and prestige it has brought to the face and perception of Nigeria. The great University of Ibadan has been a luxury site for people home and abroad being the first university in Nigeria. The Ibadan zoo has been marked as a tourist center for visitations.

The Precolonial occurrences in Ibadan has allowed the cultural and traditional practices to be ranked first class in west Africa. The Alaafin of Oyo is ranked a first class king alongside Ooni of Ife and the Oba of Benin.

Ibadan is rich in cultural values and preservations ad it's definitely a town worthy of research.
