Sokoto Stae Commissioner of Police commends policemen, vigilante collaboration

State Commissioner of Police Muhammad Usaini Gumel has begun an operation trip to the eastern senatorial region of the state as part of his efforts to reinforce the current security tactics for the restoration of peace in Sokoto State.

The itinerary includes stops at the operational local governments of Sabon Birni, Goronyo, Rabah, and Wurno. The CP also conducted on-the-spot assessments in the Sabon Birni axis at Kwanar Maharba, Kai Ka Zaka, Unguwar Lalle, and Tsamaye, some of the known locations for bandit ambushes and attacks in recent years.

In a press release sent by the command's public relations officer, DSP Sanusi Abubakar, the tour is intended to examine current tactics and strengthen the area with more functional facilities that can protect those traveling through it.
Sanusi revealed that CP Gumel addressed police officers, visiting PMF troops, and important security industry actors during the visit, asking them to enhance operational actions and collaborate as a team to reestablish peace and security in the region.

The CP also applauded the local efforts, sacrifices, and devotion to the ongoing campaign against banditry and other associated crimes, notably by traditional institutions and non-state actors.
