Bitcoin Tops $40K for the First Time in 19 Months, Rallies to 44k
Bitcoin ($BTC) has surged above the $40,000 level, reaching its highest point since late April 2022. In the past week, Bitcoin has climbed approximately 12%, going from under $39,500 to above $44,000.
This represents a 19-month high and sets a new year-to-date high for Bitcoin, which has seen a remarkable gain of over 140% since the beginning of the year.

El Salvador, in partnership with Tether, launched the “Adopting El Salvador Freedom Visa Program” on Dec. 7. Their citizenship price is higher than neighboring Caribbean countries, starting above $100,000.
