Xterio Lands $15 Million from Binance Labs to Launch NFT and Crypto Games

Xterio, a global cross-platform play-and-earn game developer and publisher, has secured a strategic investment of $15 million from Binance Labs, the venture capital arm of the world’s largest crypto exchange Binance.

Xterio is creating immersive gaming worlds where players can enjoy fun gameplay, social interactions, and economic opportunities through digital ownership of in-game assets and currencies. Xterio is behind some of the most anticipated NFT and crypto games in the industry, such as Age of Dino, a dinosaur-themed survival game with blockchain elements, and Overworld, a sci-fi sandbox MMO with user-generated content and NFT marketplace.

Xterio plans to use the funding to further game and technology development, including artificial intelligence (AI) integration and the launch of its native tokens XTER and XTERIUM.

Binance Labs bets on Xterio’s vision 🚀

Binance Labs is the investment arm of Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange by trading value, according to CoinMarketCap data. Binance Labs has a mission to support blockchain innovation and adoption around the world. Binance Labs has previously invested in other Web3 gaming startups such as Axie Infinity, Sandbox, Illuvium, and Yield Guild Games.

Binance Labs sees Xterio as a promising platform that bridges free-to-play genres with on-chain gaming enhanced by AI capabilities. Yi He, co-founder of Binance and head of Binance Labs, said:

As part of the new strategic partnership, Binance Labs will support Xterio’s growth and the startup’s token will become part of the BNB Chain ecosystem.

Xterio’s games to launch in 2024 🕹️

Xterio has two flagship games in development that are expected to launch in 2024: Age of Dino and Overworld.

Age of Dino is a dinosaur-themed survival game with blockchain elements. Players can explore a vast open world, hunt or tame dinosaurs, craft items, build bases, trade resources, and join clans. Players can also collect and breed rare dinosaur NFTs that have unique traits and abilities.

Overworld is a sci-fi sandbox MMO with user-generated content and NFT marketplace. Players can create their own planets, customize their avatars, design games, play mini-games, socialize with other players, and trade NFTs. Players can also earn rewards by participating in quests, events, tournaments, and governance.

Both games will feature XTER and XTERIUM as their in-game currencies that can be used for various purposes such as buying items, upgrading skills, accessing premium features, staking for rewards, voting for proposals, etc.
