Eden Hazard (Part 2)
In the 2010–11 season, Eden Hazard started as a regular for Lille, featuring in their initial league matches and Europa League fixtures. He scored his first goal of the season against Nice on August 29, 2010. However, his form began to fluctuate, leading to him being benched by manager Rudi Garcia to help him regain consistency.Belgium's national team manager, Georges Leekens, criticized Hazard's form, suggesting he needed to work harder physically and mentally. This sparked a debate, with Garcia defending Hazard's age and potential for improvement. Despite the criticism, Hazard persevered and reflected on the experience as a learning opportunity.
After the international break, Hazard bounced back with notable performances, including crucial goals and assists in league matches against Brest and Monaco. Lille's unbeaten streak propelled them to the top of the league table.Hazard signed a new contract with Lille until 2015, becoming the highest-paid player in Ligue 1. He celebrated by scoring a stunning long-range goal against Marseille. Hazard continued to impress, earning the UNFP Player of the Month award for March.

He scored the opening goal in Lille's Coupe de France semi-final win over Nice and converted a crucial free-kick against Nancy.Hazard's stellar performances culminated in Lille clinching the Coupe de France title and the Ligue 1 championship, securing the club's first double since the 1945–46 season. Following a period of over two months without finding the net in the league, on 3 December, Hazard emerged as a substitute and netted the decisive goal in a victory over Ajaccio, executing a penalty described as an "Antonín Panenka-style chipped penalty". Two days later, Hazard was among several players nominated for UEFA's Team of the Year for the 2011 calendar year. In Lille's final match before the winter break, Hazard matched his career-high for league goals in a season by scoring the team's third goal in a 4–4 draw with Nice. On 28 April, for the third consecutive season, Hazard was shortlisted for the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award. Two weeks later, he was bestowed with the prestigious honor ahead of competitors such as Olivier Giroud and Younès Belhanda.
