Tournament Structure
- Event Name: StarHeroes Grand Opening Tournament
- Event Format: 3 Qualification Tournaments + Qualification Final
- Format: 3vs3
- Event Objective: Determining the top two teams for the LAN event
- Event Prize Pool: $6500
- Server region: West Europe
Qualification Tournament
- Competition Format: Double elimination, BO1 (Best of 1)
- Game Mode: Starpush
- Map Selection Method: The team with the higher seed bans the first map, then the opposing team bans the second map. The match takes place on the remaining, unbanned map.
- Round Duration: 30 minutes
- Tournament Duration: 4 hours
- Qualification Format: Two teams that reach the final in the competition advance to the Qualification Finals.
- Additional Reward: The winner of the final receives a cash prize of $300 (USDC).
- All three qualification tournaments will follow the same format. From each qualification tournament, we will select the top 2 teams, which will advance to the Qualification Final.
Qualification Final
- Competition Format: Round Robin, BO1 (Best of 1)
- Game Mode: Starpush
- Map Selection Method: The team with the higher seed bans the first map, then the opposing team bans the second map. The match takes place on the remaining, unbanned map.
- Round Duration: 30 minutes
- Tournament Duration: 2.5 hours
- In the event of a tied score, for example, 4–1, the ranking will be determined by the direct match result between the teams.
After the final of qualifications, the two best teams will receive an invitation to the final match, which will be held on February 17th at the Crypto Community Conference in Warsaw.
Rules of Grand Opening Tournament Qualifications
- Communication of the tournament is held on Discord. Captains are obligated to join the StarHeroes Discord server.
- The tournament is going to be played in 3vs3 Starpush Mode.
- The competition system will be double elimination, which means every team has a second chance after losing one match.
- All matches will be played as Best of One.
- Only the team captain is allowed to create a match lobby.
- The lobby is created by the team in a higher seed position (higher number) in the bracket.
- The map is chosen by rejecting the other two maps by team captains. The captain of a team with a higher seed position (higher number) is banning the first map.
- Captains are obligated to post match results that include a screenshot of the ending screen with a visible score on a specific Discord channel.
- Cheating or using 3rd party programs is disallowed.
- Inappropriate behavior will result in disqualification from the tournament.
- Teams might register one substitute player for the tournament.
- The absence of one or more players is not disqualifying from the tournament, and the team can continue to play with 3 players or less.
- The total prize pool of each qualification tournament is $300. Winner takes all!
- The system of the tournament is about to change if extraordinary circumstances occur.
