A university professor gave an assignment to his students. The subject was to study about boys aged 10 to 13 years living in Dharavi slum of Mumbai and to estimate what they would become in the future by reviewing their home and social circumstances.

College students got busy. The background of the house of 200 children in the slum, the condition of the parents, the lifestyle and educational level of the people there, the consumption of alcohol and drugs, many such points were considered. Thereafter, the views of each boy were also seriously listened to and 'noted'.

It took about a year to complete the assignment. Its conclusion was that 95% of those boys would go on the path of crime and 90% would grow up and go to jail for some reason or the other. Only 5% of children will be able to live a good life.

Well, at that time the assignment was completed, and later it was forgotten. After 25 years, another professor noticed this study, he formed 5 teams of 3 students each and sent them to Dharavi to find out how correct the guess was. Out of 200, some had died and some had gone to other places. Still met 180 people. The college students were surprised when they got accurate information about the lives of 180 people. The results were opposite to those of the earlier study.

Only 4-5 of them went to jail for a short time in a general fight! And everyone else was living a normal life with respect. Some were in very good condition financially.

The students studying and their professor were very surprised that where the environment was suitable to take to crime, how was it possible for people to prefer a life of hard work and honesty?

After thinking carefully, the students again met those 180 people and tried to find out from them. Then each one of them said, β€œMaybe we too would have gone on the wrong path, but because of one of our teachers, we started living on the right path. If they had not given us the knowledge of right and wrong in our childhood, perhaps today we too would have indulged in crime….

The students decided to meet that teacher. When he went to school, he came to know that she had retired. Then while searching they reached his house. Told him everything and then asked, β€œWhat miracle did you do on those boys that they became civilized citizens?”

The teacher said simply and naturally: β€œMiracle? Oho ! I don't know any miracles. I loved my students like my children. Bus ! That’s it !" And she burst out laughing.

Even animals can be tamed by friends, love and affection. Cows also start giving more milk by playing melodious music. With sweet speech and behavior even strangers become our own. Whatever work we do, if we start doing it with a little amount of affection, love and sweetness, then our world will definitely be beautiful. Have a nice day, such good wishes.

THE END !
