Stress Relief Strategies(2)
What are some other ways you can relieve yourself of stress?
Exercise
Exercise is a fantastic stress reliever that works quickly. A walk allows you to enjoy a change of scenery, which can put you in a different frame of mind, while also providing the benefits of exercise. Walking is a simple but effective way to rejuvenate your mind and body, whether you just need to take a stroll around the office to take a break from a frustrating task or you decide to go for a long walk in the park after work.
Create Artwork
It may have been easy for you to connect with your creative side as a child, but it's not too late to reconnect if you've lost touch with your love of art. If you don't like drawing or painting, you could try coloring in a coloring book. Adult coloring books are becoming increasingly popular, and for good reason: coloring can be a great stress reliever.
Eat a balanced diet
A poor diet can increase sensitivity to stress. Emotional eating and reaching for high-fat, high-sugar foods may provide a short-term sense of relief, but they will only add to your long-term stress. Refined carbohydrates, such as cookies and potato chips, can cause a blood sugar spike. When your blood sugar drops, you may feel more stressed and anxious.
A healthy diet can help you combat stress in the long run. Eggs, avocado, and walnuts help with mood regulation and energy balance.
Express Gratitude
Gratitude assists you in recognizing all of the things for which you are grateful. Consider all the good things in your life, whether you're grateful for a sunny day or that you arrived at work safely. Gratitude also reminds you of all of the resources you have to cope with stress, which can be quite empowering
Make gratitude a regular habit, whether you decide to identify what you're grateful for as you sit around the dinner table or to write down three things you're grateful for in a gratitude journal every day.
Cut out things that add to your stress
Sometimes the best way to relieve stress is to eliminate something from your life. Get rid of the things that are causing you stress so you can have more peace. Watching the news, being constantly connected to your digital devices, drinking alcohol, and consuming too much caffeine are just a few of the things that can add stress to your life. Making some changes to your daily routines may help you feel better.
