Welcome to an intro series to Kamino Finance

(This series was originally posted on X, so I'll be linking those video posts below)

There's HEAPS of great info in the Kamino Docs so I'm not going to cover a lot of that ground as I can't do anywhere near as good a job as that does.
What this series tries to do is show you how you go about using the set of tools Kamino have provided to express ideas/solve a problem.

In each video I take an idea/problem (and they are not always "good" ideas/problem 😁) and express it via the tools on Kamino. In doing so I hope you can more easily see ways in which you can express your own ideas via the same tools.

Everyone's situation is unique, so there never is a one-size-fits-all solution. #defi has provided us with a set of powerful tools but it's up to each of us to use this power to craft solutions to our own situation.

We're just at very beginning of what's to come in this space but we only get there if we take the tooling and start to apply in valuable ways.

I did think of another use case after I did the video.
If you thought the price of JLP was going to go down, you could borrow the max (or near to) USDC against your JLP, hold that USDC (ideally in a yield bearing position) and then when the price of JLP fell swap into JLP to increase your JLP positions at a cheaper price.

This is essentially what is called ‘shorting’. It’s not really, IMO, an effective way to do this, and could be quite expensive given the interest rates and does carry a bit more risk than other methods. But is another way to use this particular set of tools.
