Hello, friends! Today, I will talk about the origins of the Adidas and Puma brands.
Adidas and Puma are globally recognized as leading brands in the sportswear and footwear industry. However, these two brands have an interesting story about their origins and are actually from the same family.
Adolf Dassler began producing sports shoes in the 1920s in the town of Herzogenaurach, Germany. By the 1940s, Adolf’s brother, Rudolf Dassler, also joined him in the business. During World War II, the Dassler brothers participated in various projects to provide shoes for the German army.
However, in 1948, due to disagreements and conflicts within the family business, Adolf and Rudolf decided to go their separate ways. After the end of World War II, both brothers established their own shoe companies.
The company founded by Adolf Dassler became known as “Adi Dassler Adidas.” Adidas gained fame for its specially designed shoes for athletes and became a giant brand globally, recognized for sportswear and equipment.
Rudolf Dassler, on the other hand, founded Puma. Puma is known for emphasizing speed, performance, and style in its sportswear and footwear. Gaining popularity among fast runners and football players, Puma emerged as a worldwide sportswear brand.
In this way, the competition that arose from the separation of the Dassler brothers led to the birth of two giant brands, Adidas and Puma. The town of Herzogenaurach began to be known as the “shoe city,” and these two brands have a long history and success in the world of sportswear.
