I started vaping quite early dating back to 2012 but then you needed the whole set(device, pod/tank, coil, battery) luckily I was able to stop when selling my whole kit.
Years have passed and got back to old habits due to disposable vapes being available everywhere similar as JUUL here to tell you how i finally overcame it again.

The Motivation

For everyone reasons may differ like health, financial or personal reasons. For me personally my motivation was financial as it’s really expensive in the long run.

In both Europe and US it costs around 6 $ or € give or take up to 10 € when it’s above 800 puffs, the quality has been decreasing making it a one day use in a month it rounds up to 186 € what is quite a lot!

When talking in a broader perspective nicotine is available in vast variety starting off with cigarettes, vapes, disposable vapes, snus(pouched nicotine), nicotine gum etc.

So now it is easier to get addicted and spend a lot of money compared to the early 20th where just cigarettes where available now various accessibility and convenience of purchase makes it more difficult to quit the addiction.

Choosing the Right Approach

There are multiple ways of stopping vaping or consuming nicotine a lot depends on personality and discipline and what works for you!
Gradual reduction was complex same as going “cold turkey” as I could often rebounce especially under stress. Having a healthy lifestyle like gym, walks, stabile personal live gives more of a motivation compared if your unsatisfied with multiple parts of your life thus it’s easier to fall into instant dopamine rush.

Nicotine withdrawal lasts up to two to four weeks but after 3 days it was really difficult to not fall into temptations.

As there are more nicotine substances available there are products to quit them.

Replacing the Habit

So as I mentioned back in the day I just sold everything and forcefully went past the withdrawal. A while back was in the vacation and that makes it easier to ignore the cravings as well but going back to regular work life schedule can set you back to rebounce especially under stress.

What helped me in the end was a suggestion from a friend of taking particular pills that block the receptors of nicotine cravings.

The above products is EU based has 100 pills I just used 50 and(2–3 a day) and it worked like a charm. Was quite skeptical but it worked like a charm and wasn’t difficult one bit as had no withdrawal symptoms.

Conclusion

While I am not perfect, and there are instances where I still enjoy the occasional cigar or make minor exceptions during social events, my commitment to avoiding daily reliance on old habits remains steadfast.
If self-management proves challenging, there’s no shame in seeking support or considering substances that can aid in overcoming an addiction, even if it comes at a cost.
The ultimate goal is to prioritize both physical and financial well-being, making the journey towards a healthier lifestyle a sustainable and achievable endeavor.
