Komodo National Park has received several international awards. Among them are the Man and Biosphere Reserve in 1977, the World Heritage Site in 1991, and The New 7 Wonders of Nature in 2011. This area is a habitat for rare animals, namely the Komodo dragon. Based on data for 2018, the number of Komodo dragons in this national park is approximately 2,872.
