Healthy boundaries are a critical yet often overlooked aspect of self-care too. Without them in place, we deplete vital energy trying to make situations or even people fit an unrealistic standard. I’m guilty too!

Examples help illustrate creating boundaries that honor YOU:

  • Give coworkers designated times you are available versus 24/7 access
  • Decline social events when you’ve reached social quota for self-care
  • Limit time with energy draining/negative people
  • End unhealthy relationships
  • Let go of guilt saying no if something doesn’t work for you
  • Communicate conditions need to change for relationship to grow


Remember, you get to decide what standards and behaviors you accept from others and yourself. Establish boundaries around those. This includes speaking up or walking away when your wellbeing feels compromised.

You are not responsible for others’ reactions, lack of understanding or attempts to make you feel guilty. As long as you act from a place of thoughtful care for all, you can feel aligned in your choices. Nourish only relationships that replenish you too!
