Exotic animals

For many wanderlusts, the chance to see some exotic wildlife is one of the main reasons they travel to certain places. Strange animals always attract our attention, and with more than 8 million species of living things on Earth, the fact that we haven't heard of all of them is not at all surprising. The interesting thing is if you want to look at pictures of all the almost 9 million species of animals that roam our planet, it would take you about eight years to spend 30 seconds on each photo and do it non-stop, without any breaks to eat or sleep. Given that scientists discover new animal species almost every day, this operation sounds rather unrealistic.
- Velvet ants Confusingly, these insects are actually wasps of several different species. Females are wingless and hairy, and look very much like ants. Some specimens found in Chile are black and white in color, and when you see them you will understand why they are also called 'panda ants'.These bugs are known for their extremely painful stings. Their sting power is so strong that these wasps are also known as 'cow killers'.
- Pink Fairy Armadillo The Pink Fairy Armadillo is a tiny creature that can only be found in central Argentina, and is so rare that scientists have not even been able to classify their conservation status. Small enough to fit in a human hand, these tiny armadillos are nocturnal and burrow into the ground. They are generally hard to spot due to their shyness, but if you want to try, central Argentina is the place to be.
- Poodle Moth Discovered in Venezuela in 2009, this new species of alien-looking moth has poodle-like fur. This fur covers the head, chest, belly and even the wings.
- Glass frog Found in South America, the glass frog is a family of amphibians that, in this case, display a remarkable feature – a transparent abdomen. Because the internal organs are visible through the skin, they are commonly called glass frogs
- Pangolins (also found in Asia) Pangolins are really bizarre creatures that look a bit like anteaters. In fact, their second name is precisely 'scaly anteater'. However, instead of the anteaters and armadillos they resemble, they are much closer to dogs, cats, and even seals. Despite their strange appearance, pangolins are quite cute with their beady eyes and large feet. A good place to spot them is sub-Saharan Africa, where three different subspecies can be spotted. Unfortunately, many pangolin species have become critically endangered in Africa and Asia due to intensive illegal hunting and poaching for their meat.
- Indian Purple Frog Found in India, this type of frog has a puffy body and an unusually pointed snout. The frog spends most of its life underground and comes to the surface only during the monsoons to mate.
- Painted bunting The painted bunting can be found on the coast between North Carolina and the northern parts of Florida. Only males have a speck of bright iridescent color on their feathers, while females and immature males are medium green. For the most part, these birds are real food gatherers and hunters, but they will occasionally nibble on bird feeders. During the breeding season, the males will feed on insects.
