Numerous theories are circulating among the XRP community about the predicted price of XRP and the function of Ripple and XRP in the new financial system.

Some of these theories seem plausible others are complete absurdity. The XRP community has suffered a lot through the SEC case and the recent bull run has passed them by. No wonder there are incredible predictions of XRP price. The technical analysis of the XRP price seems to confirm that the long period of XRP accumulation may soon come to an end and the price will skyrocket.

There are also other strange conspiracy-like theories circulating among the XRP community. Such an equivalent of Qanon in the crypto community.

This article is the beginning of a series on theories circulating among the XRP community.

We start with the theory:

Flip The Switch

This theory is based on the XRP community's belief that Ripple has made so many connections with banks and institutions that demand for XRP will dramatically increase in a very short period of time. When the problem of providing liquidity in the market arises then XRP will shine as a bridge currency, and ODL will solve the problem of lack of liquidity.

I wrote about it in my earlier article which you can find here:

On the basis of these words, a theory has been built that the change in the price and role of XRP in the financial market will happen very rapidly just like turning on a light. People will wake up one day and the price of XRP will be in thousands and not in cents as it has been so far. Ripple itself later explained that there is no switch, and the most respected figures in the XRP community like Mickey B Fresh appealed not to spread such theories because they hurt the community, but this theory has many supporters.

Winning a case with the SEC

Another variant of this theory is that the Flip the Switch will come after a won case with the SEC. Undoubtedly, winning the case and the full clarity of XRP will have a positive impact on the price of XRP.

Gary Gensler and Elizabeth Warren

On top of that, investors will not be afraid to invest their capital in XRP. There will also be many new developers building on XRP Ledger. All this will contribute to a sharp increase in price. Here is a video of an interview with Brad Garlinghouse, who predicts a win with the SEC.

Supporters of this theory predict the price of XRP in the thousands. There is often talk of $10k per XRP. This is motivated by the fact that if the entire current financial system is switched to ODL, the price of XRP will have to be very high to ensure coverage of these assets. If you haven't read my article on ODL then read it now:
https://www.bulbapp.io/p/d28130fc-369c-4bd7-ba2e-4a010ce736cc/-xrp-is-a-bridge-currency-in-on-demand-liquidity-on-xrp-ledger?s_id=2a9f7922-dbba-453e-9bc8-b8eb553b7dad

The idea behind ODL is that currencies from one country will be converted into XRP and within seconds XRP will be converted into the currency of another country. In this way, international transactions will take place in real time. It should be noted that thanks to the very high speed of XRPL, national currencies will be on the blockchain for only 3-4 seconds. Ripple and experts in the XRP community have repeatedly explained that ODL will not affect the price of XRP.
On the other hand, to transfer $10M when the XRP price is $0.5 you need 20M XRP. If the price of XRP was $1000 for a $10M transfer, it would only take 1000 XRP. Taking this into account, the theory makes sense. The higher the value of transactions handled by XRPL, the more XRP will be needed to handle them. Many XRP holders are not going to sell them so the only reasonable alternative is a higher XRP price.

Many well-known youtubers predict $10,000 XRP price

On the topic of $10K for XRP there are many videos and posts circulating on the Internet. The most important thing is to do your own research on this topic. And not to risk the money on which your own livelihood depends. The cryptocurrency market is highly risky. However, I encourage you to learn and do your own research on this technology not only XRP but other blockchain projects.

Burning the entire escrow

Another theory on the anticipated price of XRP skyrocketing in the short term to $10K is speculation that Ripple will agree to burn the entire escrow.

On the topic of escrow you will learn from this article:
https://www.bulbapp.io/p/c5ee1369-fdd7-4127-be5d-35e7820d6b7f/xrp-escrow-explained-this-is-not-dumping-tokens-by-ripple?s_id=da99faaa-778a-4366-beeb-9de2d9c61080

Advocates of this theory believe that there will be a Ripple settlement with the SEC and one of the findings of this settlement will be the burning of XRP locked up in escrow. As with any of these theories, Ripple is not making any statements on the matter and is very careful in its comments and communications. It is not even clear if it is technically possible. Of course, proponents claim that it is. This should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Conclusion

I am far from judging these theories and speculating on the XRP price. What draws so much attention to these types of theories is the probability that they may turn out to be true. In my future articles I will present other theories circulating among the XRP community. As usual, time will show who was right. Subscribe to my blog to stay up to date with new articles.
