HOSKY - The Meme Coin Changing the way we look at Meme Coins
Not to long ago I came across a project that stood out to me. It stood out to me because it was different then you average Crypto project. I would catch myself going back over and over again just to see what was going on. In this article I want to go over a project that I find not only fun but rewarding, interesting, and different then you average Crypto project. A project that promises nothing but good laughs and community.
If you’ve been hanging out in the crypto world or chatting on Discord, you might’ve stumbled across something called HOSKY. If you have not heard of HOSKY yet then you are in for a treat. It’s a meme cryptocurrency that’s is changing the way people look at meme coins, and I’m here to break it all down for you. I’ve been digging into what HOSKY is, who’s behind it, when it started, and why people are talking about it, especially since you can earn it just by being active in its Discord community.
Check out the video above to get a closer look at HOSKY. A couple things in the video I mentioned were not correct. The way you pronounce ADA is "AY-da" not A D A 🤷😂. To be honest I had no idea until someone reached out to me. It was named after Ada Lovelace a mathematician and early tech writer. I was also kind of wrong about the min withdraw. You can withdraw any amount but you will be charged 2 ADA when you withdraw due to fees. We will discuss withdrawing in more detail later in this article. Also did you know the smallest amount of ADA is called Lovelace. You know how Bitcoins smallest denomination is called Satoshi's, well Cardanos is called Lovelace's. Another bit of information I had no idea about.
So as I always say, sit back, grab a cup of tea (I prefer coffee), and lets dive deep into the Cryptocurrency known as HOSKY.
What Is HOSKY?
Have you ever seen a cryptocurrency that doesn’t take itself too seriously. I know I haven’t. Every project is hoping for a pump and talking tech. Well HOSKY was made to be different. It does not promise returns, riches, or anything like that. It was made to be fun. Somewhere you can let loose and enjoy yourself while also earning a little Crypto during the process. It’s a “meme token” built on the Cardano blockchain, a fancy way of saying it’s a digital coin inspired by internet jokes, specifically dog-themed ones. Unlike Bitcoin or Ethereum, which are all about big financial dreams, HOSKY is here for the laughs and the community vibes. Its official website, hosky.io, calls it a “low-quality s**t coin doggo meme token,” and they’re not kidding, it’s not trying to make you rich but more about having fun and earning a little Crypto while you do it.
HOSKY launched with a massive supply of 1 quadrillion tokens (that’s a 1 with 15 zeros!). About 228 trillion are floating around right now. You can earn it by chatting on their Discord server, which has over 13,000 (this is a rough estimate, not sure what the real number is to be honest) members at the moment, they also have giveaways in the chat where if you are active and see a message saying react to this message and you will be part of the giveaway. Which means leave some type of reaction like a heart, laughing face, 100 symbol, or something along those lines and you earn some of the pot being given away. Later in this article we will go over earning HOSKY, how you check your wallet balance, deposit, withdraw, and do your own giveaways if that is what you want to do.
Who Created HOSKY and When?
Here’s where things get a little mysterious. The folks who made HOSKY didn’t leave a calling card, no names, no faces. They’re anonymous, which isn’t unusual for meme coins. (I might be doing a interview with the mascot of HOSKY in the near future 🤞) Half of all HOSKY tokens, 500 trillion of them, were sent to Charles Hoskinson, the guy who created Cardano. People call him “The Master” in HOSKY’s world, but it’s not clear if he’s one of the brains behind it or just a big name. Charles is the founder of Cardano so maybe they are just sending half to him because they believe in him and the network. He hasn’t said, “Yep, I made it,” so for now, it’s a bit of a guessing game. Maybe they are just showing their appreciation to one of the greatest minds in blockchain.
As for when HOSKY was created, the best info I could find points to May, 2021. That’s when it started popping up on crypto trackers like CoinGecko and CoinDesk. It was a wild time for meme coins, everyone was jumping on the bandwagon after Dogecoin went viral, and HOSKY joined the party.
What’s the Point of HOSKY?
So, what’s HOSKY all about? Honestly, it’s not trying to change the world or solve big problems. Its own “brownpaper” (their funny version of a whitepaper) says it’s filling a gap for “low-quality meme tokens” on Cardano. The goal? Make people smile with dog memes and build a community of “#memellionaires”, not millionaires in cash, but in laughs and good times. Also in HOSKY tokens. Since I started using HOSKY I have made around 18,000,000 HOSKY. I know this is not much but I only get on once or twice a day for like 10 to 15 minutes. If I were to use it longer and fully commit I could make a good amount more.
You can earn HOSKY by being active on their Discord, think of it like getting rewarded for hanging out with friends online. They’ve got “rains,” where tokens drop to active chatters, and on their website staking options where you can lock up tokens to earn more. There’s even a Rocket League esports team, named HSK (formerly known as Team HOSKY), they sponsor, which shows they’re all about connecting with gamers and crypto fans. Not only that but they sponsored a NASCAR driver named Trent Barnes back in 2023. It’s less about serious investing and more about being part of something new, fun, rewarding, and social.
How Does HOSKY Work on Cardano?
HOSKY runs on Cardano, a blockchain that’s known for being eco-friendly and fast. Not only that but it is said to be one of the most decentralized blockchain available. Unlike Bitcoin, which uses tons of energy, Cardano’s system (called Proof-of-Stake) is more earth friendly, some say it uses 99% less power. That’s a big deal if you care about the planet like I do. It also means HOSKY can handle a huge number of tokens without slowing down, which is perfect for its giant supply. I plan on doing an article in the future about Cardano and explaining it from the ground up. The HOSKY token has accounted for 8.6% of all Cardano transactions. That is kind of wild. That is a large amount of the transactions. That means that HOSKY is playing a big part of Cardanos growth.
The token’s price is small, I do not want to put the price here because it is constantly changing, but you can click here to see the live price (the Crypto market is volatile so this price is subject to change drastically), with a market value of around $12 million. It is extremely cheap right now, so even a little bit of Cardano’s ADA can get you a ton of HOSKY. But don’t expect it to skyrocket like some coins, it’s more of a fun collectible than a get-rich-quick scheme. I am not saying the price will not pump one day. I have noticed it does not matter the utility of a token but more about the community that supports it.
The Numbers Behind HOSKY
Let’s talk tokenomics, how HOSKY’s supply is split up. Out of that 1 quadrillion total, it has been broken down into different sections. I know I showed this above but I wanted to go into a little more detail about what they are doing with their tokens.
Big Bosskys Half (500 trillion) 50%
- Charles Hoskinson: 100% (500 trillion tokens). No one’s sure if he’s using them or just holding them. Maybe he is holding them for future plans for the project. Maybe he is HOSKY?! Probably not but who else better to have hold you tokens for future endeavors.
Little Bosskys Half (500 trillion) 50%
- Community Incentives - 15%
- Doggie Bowl: 20% This is where you swap ADA for HOSKY.
- Founders: 10% The anonymous creators say they won’t sell these, but you never know with these types of projects.
- Rewards - 20%
- Reserve: 35% They’re saving these for future plans. These plans are unclear.
It’s a wild setup, and that big chunk for Hoskinson "The Master" has people raising eyebrows. Is it a gift? Is it to hold for the future? No one knows for sure. Does this mean he is the creator? Does this mean they have plans in the future and the master is just holding on to the 50% chunk for safe keeping.
How to Earn and Withdraw HOSKY
As I said earlier HOSKY is not like your normal Meme coin. HOSKY has a Discord that allows you to earn their token just by participating and being active. You can check out my video about HOSKY to get a closer look at it all but we will do a quick run threw to show you how it works, how you earn, and how you withdraw.
So first you will need to join the HOSKY discord. Once you get here you are going to go through a verification process where you need to do some small thing like react to a message or something to prove you are a human and not a robot. After this you will be allowed to check out the Discord in full. There are a couple channels you can choose from but the one we will be focused on is called degen-eral. This is where you are going to be able to earn the HOSKY token for being active.
You can earn multiple different tokens. I have earned HOSKY, STRCH, CLAY, and ADA. The Cardano tip bot wallet supports multiple different tokens that use the Cardano blockchain. These tokens are called CNT's (Cardano Native Tokens).
There are a couple different ways to earn. Sometimes the chat will do giveaways called "raffles" where you just need to react to the giveaway message and you will earn part of the pot. As long as you see the message in time and react you will earn.
The next way is through being active in the chat. All you need to do is be active by chatting, sharing gifs, and liking other peoples stuff they share.
You can withdraw at any time but keep in mind there will be a fee of 2 ADA so make sure the amount you withdraw is enough to make it worth it. Also make sure you have at least 3 to 5 ADA in your Cardano Tip Bot wallet to cover fees. You can withdraw any amount of HOSKY but you will need to pay a 2 ADA fee so just keep that in mind before you try to withdraw.
To do this you will need to DM the Cardano Tip Bot. Once you find the Tip Bot you can use the / command for anything you need to do. First you will need to deposit some ADA into your wallet. After you do this and you have earned enough you will need to go back to the DM with the Tip Bot and type /withdraw.
Here you will need to put in your address and what asset you want to withdraw. It can be a little difficult so if you need help do not hesitate leaving a comment or reaching out in my DMs. So it would look something like this /withdraw (address) (token amount), example = /withdraw (address) 20m hosky.
If you would like to do your own giveaways on HOSKY then you will need to go into the degen-eral channel and type /giveaway (length) (amount) example= /giveaway 1h 2m hosky.
If you are feeling generous then this would be a great way to give back to the HOSKY community. After you have done it right you will get a prompt letting you know it has been initiated.
The above picture is what it will look like after it has been started. There are many other commands you can use but these are the main ones you will be using.
What’s New With HOSKY?
Lately, HOSKY’s been getting some buzz thanks to something called Quantum Hosky. Charles Hoskinson announced it in 2024 as a “multichain metaverse” project with AI and big ideas. It’s not the same as the HOSKY token, but the name’s got people excited, and HOSKY’s value jumped over 1000% in a year, hitting a $37 million market cap. It’s still separate, though, think of it like a cool side project that might lift HOSKY’s profile. Right now HOSKY's price has gone back down but so has a good majority of projects. The community is extremely strong from what I can tell but the markets are all over the place right now. So really the future is unknown for HOSKY and Cryptocurrency as a whole. Governments are starting to see Crypto's power and starting to add it to their strategic reserves. So I have a feeling the Crypto bubble is not going to pop any time soon.
The community’s also buzzing, with 6,000 engagements in a week on Cardano’s charts. People love the silliness and less stressful vibe, and it’s keeping HOSKY alive and kicking.
Final Thoughts
If you’re into crypto for fun, HOSKY’s a blast. It’s not about deep tech or huge profits, it’s about joining people that love memes and doesn’t sweat the small stuff. It is a fun project where you can earn some Crypto and connect with like minded people. It is a project that is not trying to talk people into investing or promises the world and high returns. It is just a project that lets people earn from hanging out and letting loose for a little bit. Just don’t bet your life savings on it, its value’s all over the place, and it’s more of a playful experiment than a serious investment.
So, there you have it, HOSKY’s story in all its goofy glory. What do you think? Ready to chat about it on Discord or share it with the world? Let me know in the comments. I plan on covering more projects that use the Cardano blockchain. Cardano is next level and I truly believe it is going to play a big part in the world. So stay tuned and remember to like, follow, and comment to help my accounts grow.
