XRP Comes to Wall Street: Teucrium 2x Leveraged ETF Launches on NYSE Arca

There is news for the XRP community to look forward to as Teucrium Investment Advisors launches the world's first XRP-backed exchange-traded fund (ETF) in the United States. The 2x leveraged ETF, which is listed under the symbol XXRP, started trading on the NYSE Arca on April 8, 2025.

All the Hype Surrounding XXRP
The Teucrium 2x Daily XRP ETF is constructed to provide twice the daily return of XRP. Practically speaking, if the price of XRP increases 5% in a day, XXRP will return 10% (before fees and expenses). If the price of XRP decreases, losses will also be magnified. XXRP is therefore an investor instrument for those that are confident in the day-to-day movement of XRP prices.

A Special Entry: Leveraged Before Spot
A spot ETF usually trails unleveraged "spot" funds that own the underlying asset. It is unconventional for a leveraged ETF to come before an unleveraged one. Bloomberg Senior ETF Analyst Eric Balchunas noted that it was unusual to launch a leveraged product prior to launching a spot ETF.

Investment Considerations
Although XXRP offers the potential of greater gains, we cannot forget that leverage cuts both ways. Losses as well may be magnified, and therefore it is a viable choice for risk-aware, seasoned investors aware of the risk involved. It levies a 1.85% management fee for the complexity of carrying a leverage position.

The Bigger Picture 
The launch of XXRP is reflective of growing demand for cryptocurrency-backed financial products and is a significant milestone in bringing XRP to the traditional financial markets. As laws and regulations mature, the launch of such products can also lead to even more diverse crypto investment products in the future.
