Crypto has a cult-like following that polarizes crowds. People tend to adore it or be extremely skeptical of it. But for those of us who adore and understand what crypto promises to fulfil and is fulfilling are we getting ahead of ourselves? Evangelizing anything to the extreme is never healthy.
This isn’t a criticism — it’s just an observation.

The hype is natural and warranted. After all, wouldn’t you be hyped about electricity or the internet in their early days?

Never before in the history of mankind, within the sphere of money, have we had such an amazing technology. One that’s capable of undermining the broken monetary system we live with. That being said, neither the Internet, electricity, or crypto, or any ground-breaking invention for that matter should be evangelized to the extreme point; where it consumes all our mind space.

Our life is richer than any single thing outside of us.

But there’s a problem. Unlike other inventions, many of us have invested a lot of our time and money into crypto. It’s perhaps going to be on our minds more than it should be — particularly during volatile periods.

Our investment can cloud our emotions. It can disrupt our thoughts, not necessarily with expectations for the future of crypto, but with this sense that our life’s promise is hinged upon the price going up.

But we need to take on the perspective of someone who’s never invested in crypto. How would we react if we didn’t own any crypto? We’d care less about the price for one. And we wouldn’t hinge all our hope on it.

Some of us implicitly believe that without crypto - we won’t be able to lead a meaningful life.
This is not true.

Such an approach reeks of co-dependency. Yes, crypto is amazing.
But it’s just a tool (an amazing one at that). You’d still be able to live a good life without it. Why?

Because crypto can’t give you creativity, growth, enterprise, joy, and innovation. It can’t change your long-life habits. It can’t heal you. It can’t make you better at what you do. But you can do those things.

They’re in your control.

On the other hand, the price of crypto isn’t.
