INTRODUCTION TO SMART MACHINEERA CINEMA: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCETECHNOLOGY USE IN THE CINEMA ART

Today’s popular technology artificial intelligence has been used in the movie industry as well as other fields. Using artificial intelligence-based technologies in the movie industry right after the digital revolution in the cinema is the transition of the cinema to a new data-based stage without adequate framing under current conditions. This study will expose how artificial intelligence is used in the movie industry to explain the relationship between artificial intelligence and cinema and revealed a new stage of cinema via data science. Within this context, the purpose of this study is to draw a general framework about how artificial intelligence is used in the cinema field and to evaluate the new problems and discussions that might emerge by using artificial intelligence technologies in the cinema art. In this study, the first usage example of highly new artificial intelligence-based technology use in cinema and digital movie creation in terms of technology are determined and these examples are evaluated and assessed in terms of use. Thus, this study only focused on the use of artificial intelligence on movie generation. By using the examples, the study presents that data science is used in most of the movie industry production line stages and revealed the contextual and stylistic changes and transformation of the cinema art. With this study, the necessity to re-evaluate the conceptual and theoretic structure of the cinema in the age of artificial intelligence where art is transformed into a more robotic form by disabling human elements and how cinema will be shaped in the age of machines is opened for discussion
