On September 12, Binance Charity officially announced its plan to airdrop $1 million in BNB to support Binance users in the northern regions of Vietnam, which are suffering heavy damage from Typhoon Yagi.

On September 12, the charity fund of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance, Binance Charity, announced its plan to airdrop $1 million in BNB to users who have registered a Binance account and have conducted POA (Proof-Of-Address) verification in the list of 25 cities in northern Vietnam that suffered heavy damage after Typhoon Yagi.

The affected cities supported by the program include: Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Yen Bai, Dien Bien, Son La, Hoa Binh, Bac Ninh, Ha Nam, Hanoi, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, and Vinh Phuc.

According to information from Binance, this charity airdrop program ensures that all eligible users receive support from the exchange. Specific details about the program:

Users do not need to register to participate in the program, Binance will automatically identify eligible people based on the POA (Proof of Address) information they have verified in advance.

Users who verify POA in the Northern region of Vietnam and complete it before September 10, 2024 will receive 50 USD in BNB tokens.

For those who register an account before September 10 but complete POA between September 10 and September 30, 2024, they will receive $20 in BNB.

The amount will be airdropped directly to user accounts in the form of BNB token vouchers and redeemed directly at Binance Rewards Hub.

The first round of donations will start on September 16, 2024.

POA (Proof of Address) is the process of verifying a user's address by providing documents proving their place of residence. Documents commonly used to verify POA include:

·      Utility bill: electricity, water, internet or gas.

·      A valid bank account statement (usually within 3-6 months).

·      A certificate of residence issued by the local government.

·      A rental contract or real estate ownership document.

·      Driver's license or ID card with a clear address.

This support program of Binance Charity is part of Binance's long-term commitment to accompany and help users in difficult circumstances. Binance CEO Richard Teng shared the loss that the Vietnamese people had to bear:

"We would like to express our deepest condolences to all those affected by Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam. We hope that this small contribution from Binance will bring some support to the community and help people recover soon from this disaster."

This is not the first time Binance has carried out charity activities in Vietnam. Previously, Binance Charity launched many initiatives such as saltwater filtration systems and donated medical supplies to help with urgent problems that the Vietnamese people are facing.
