Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, is expanding its presence in Southeast Asia with a new branch in Thailand. The exchange announced on Monday that it has obtained a digital asset business license from the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), allowing it to offer spot and derivatives trading, as well as fiat-to-crypto and crypto-to-crypto conversions.
According to Binance, Thailand is one of the fastest-growing markets for cryptocurrency adoption, with over 1.5 million registered users on local platforms. The country also has a supportive regulatory environment, with clear and comprehensive rules for digital asset businesses. Binance said it will comply with all the relevant laws and regulations, and work closely with the Thai SEC and other authorities to ensure a safe and secure trading experience for its users.
Binance’s expansion into Thailand is part of its global strategy to increase its reach and offer more localized services to its customers. The exchange already operates in several countries and regions, including Singapore, Australia, the UK, the US, and the EU. Binance also plans to launch more fiat-to-crypto gateways and platforms in the future, as well as support more languages and currencies.
Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, also known as CZ, said that he is excited about the new venture and the potential of the Thai market. He said that Binance aims to provide the best products and services to its users, and empower them with the freedom of money. He also expressed his gratitude to the Thai SEC and the local community for their support and trust.
“We are thrilled to launch Binance Thailand and offer our users a more convenient and accessible way to trade and invest in cryptocurrencies. Thailand is a key market for us, with a vibrant and active crypto community and a forward-looking regulatory framework. We look forward to working with the Thai SEC and other stakeholders to foster innovation and growth in the digital asset industry,” CZ said.
Binance Thailand is expected to go live in the first quarter of 2024, with a beta version available for testing in December 2023. Users can register and verify their accounts on the official website, and enjoy zero trading fees for the first month. Binance also offers a referral program, where users can invite their friends and earn up to 40% commission on their trading fees.
If you are interested in joining Binance Thailand, or want to learn more about the exchange and its features, you can visit their website or follow them on social media. Binance is also hosting a series of online events and webinars to introduce its platform and educate its users about cryptocurrency trading and investing.
