INEC recognizes Orbih’s Edo PDP faction, Ignores Obaseki's
Considering that the Independent National Electoral Commission has recognized the candidate put forth by the latter faction in the primary held in May, the protracted conflict between Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki and Vice Chairman, South-South, of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Dan Orbih, appears to be over.
Candidates for various elective seats emerged from separate primaries held by each of the two groups.
However, information from the INEC offices in Benin City, the capital of Edo State, on Tuesday revealed that INEC had put a thorough list on its notice board and that all the PDP candidates on the list were victorious in the primary held by the Orbih's faction.
INEC while publishing the list gave its remarks stating that its action was in obedience to the court order which acknowledged the candidacy of the published name.
