Delicious Hamburger Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) ground beef (around 80% lean)
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or your preference)
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced onions
- Pickles (optional)
- Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil or butter for cooking
Instructions:
Prepare the Ingredients:
- Divide the ground beef into four equal parts and shape them into patties slightly larger than the size of your hamburger buns. Press the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent bulging while cooking. Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper.
Cook the Patties:
- Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil or a small amount of butter.
- Once the pan is hot, place the patties onto the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for a medium doneness or until they reach your desired level of doneness. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
Toast the Buns:
- While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the skillet or grill. This step adds a nice crunch and helps prevent the buns from becoming soggy.
Assemble the Hamburgers:
- Start by spreading your choice of condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise) on the bottom half of each bun.
- Layer the bottom half of the bun with lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, and onions.
- Place the cooked patties with or without melted cheese on top of the veggies.
- Add pickles if desired.
- Top it off with the other half of the bun.
